Bosniak American Association of Iowa seeks to promote and foster Bosnian American heritage and activism, both within the state of Iowa and abroad. The organization represents the 20,000 strong population of Bosnian-Americans within the state of Iowa and seeks to empower Bosnian voices through education, activism, and advocacy.
We aim to assure that all peoples of Bosnian-Herzegovinian American heritage are offered equal and exceptional representation and opportunities within our larger diverse American society.

Amra Klempić is a Legal Secretary with Polk County, in Des Moines. Prior to joining Polk County, she was a Paralegal with Grefe & Sidney Law Firm. Amra is a Grand View University Alumna, with a BA in Human Services and a minor in Sociology. She enjoys baking and spending time with family. BAAI is her number one priority and she works to ensure that Bosnian-American voices are heard. As President, her ultimate goal is to represent the Bosnian community and promote the Bosnian culture and heritage.
Ernad Muratović graduated from Quincy University with a degree in Political Science & International Business. Currently is a President at Knitclean Inc. In his free time he enjoys playing soccer, working out, reading, playing video games.
Ernad joined BAAI right from the start of the organization. He has been an Executive Director for the past four years. He enjoys meeting new people within our community and helping the Bosnian community in any way possible.
Medisa Suljić, originally from Sarajevo came to the United States in 1998 with her family for better opportunity in life.
She studied graphic design at DMACC and proceeded to work for the ADI group as a graphic designer for several years.
Medisa is an owner of Medi Photography and employed at Mercer within life insurance department. She is a devoted mother who loves to spend time with her kids, playing tennis, biking, dancing, traveling and meditating.
She joined the BAAI group to serve her community and spread joy to others with kindness.
Sidik Bećirović currently serves as a Marketing Director with BAAI. Sidik has been with the organization since its founding in 2015. Sidik graduated from Kaplan University and holds a Criminal Justice degree. For the past 12 years, he has been employed with City of Des Moines as a Senior Police Officer. Sidik enjoys working out and traveling.
Sidik joined the team to help bring the community together and teach those who are interested about where we come from, our culture and traditions.
Senad Suljić is originaly from Bratunac, located on the eastern side of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He immigrated to the United States in 2001 with his family. Senad holds a degree in Criminal Justice. He spent first few years of his career as a Banker. For the past 8 years Senad is employed with Iowa DOT motor vehicle enforcement as a State Officer. Senad enjoy being an officer and building a relationship with the community. Senad is proud officer but most proud father to his two daughters that he loves spending time with.
Senad is also proud to be a part of Bosnian community and part of BAAI. Organization that is dedicated to help spread Bosnian culture and help the community.
Sanel Terzić holds a BA in Criminal Justice from Grandview, and a Masters Degree in Education from Drake University. When he is not working as a Production Supervisor, Sanel spends his free time in the world of soccer and music, where he produces tunes of Sevdalinka, Bosnian traditional folk songs, from the strings of his guitar. In the past, Sanel also spent several years coaching soccer at Urbandale Soccer Club and Soccer Shots. Sanel hopes to bring his positive vibes and past experiences to connect the Bosnian community through Sports, Music, promoting Bosnian cultural and heritage.

Naida is originally from Srebrenica, Bosnia but was born in Lugano, Switzerland. Naida is graduating from Iowa State Univ. this year with a BS in Marketing, and a minor in Leadership Studies. She has accepted an account manager position at Insight Global in Des Moines. She enjoys yoga and reading. She joined BAAI because she enjoys being active in her community and for the voices of Bosnian Americans to be heard.
